3 essential tips for preserving your steel cookware

A simple guide to revitalizing your cookware and making it look like new...
3 consigli essenziali per preservare le proprie pentole in acciaio

A quality stainless steel cookware lasts forever. However, neglecting certain precautions can cause some annoying, unsightly defects, such as stains or residue. Luckily, we have the right solutions to prevent, or even fix, these imperfections.

Here are three tips to best care for your pans:

  1. ADD SALT WHEN THE WATER IS BOILING
Some people add salt to the pasta water before it boils, others after it boils. It might seem like a simple difference in habits, but it can actually make a difference in the preservation of a pot. Adding salt when the water is boiling allows the solvent to dissolve more quickly and thus avoid settling on the bottom of the pot, creating those annoying stains.

  2. USE CREAM STEEL CLEANERS
If the damage is already done and your pans already have the typical stains caused by salt or limescale residue, don't panic! To remove them, you can use a specific cream cleaner for steel. A little elbow grease and your pans will be as good as new.

  3. DRY THE STEEL AFTER WASHING
Another tip to avoid stains on our steel cookware is to dry it immediately after washing, regardless of whether you wash it in the dishwasher or by hand. This is because our tap water often contains minerals and traces of limescale. Leaving a steel pan to dry on its own risks leaving streaks or stains. Drying the steel with a cloth prevents water droplets from settling and creating these unsightly defects.

These are just some of the precautions you need to take to have impeccable pans, but for complete instructions visit instructions-of-use .
