Barazzoni turns 120: a historic brand that loves design

Generation after generation, we carry on the same values of 120 years ago, always keeping alive and vital what has characterised Barazzoni from the very beginning: an eye to the future and a love for design.

It was back in 1897 when Giovanni Battista Barazzoni started up a small laboratory in Invorio, in the province of Novara, manufacturing household articles in tin, brass and copper. His own business officially became a 'company' in 1903. Since that time, generation after generation, we have carried on the same values of 120 years ago, always keeping alive and vital what has characterised Barazzoni since its origins: a look to the future and a love for design. A future that design is often able to foresee and, concretely, anticipate.

A decisive choice for Barazzoni's DNA

'Innovate in thinking, in designing, in the way of producing, in running the company system', are the words of President Andrea Barazzoni, the core of our modus operandi. Alongside tradition, in fact, innovation has always been of fundamental importance, and it is no coincidence that ours was the first Italian company to introduce design in the production of pots and pans. The result of this mixture? It is, even today, one of Barazzoni's flagship lines: the TUMMY line, designed by Ennio Lucini and winner, in 1979, of the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in the Home Furnishing and Complements category.

A curriculum full of prizes and awards

Since the 1970s, design has been a fundamental part of Barazzoni, which has always been able to boast innovative products of the highest quality. To ensure a high standard for our cookware and kitchen products, we have an in-house design studio with a great art director, architect and designer Claudio Bellini, and we collaborate with other prestigious Italian and international designers.

Over the years, this has enabled us to win top prizes and awards, including the Red Dot Design Award in 2004, 2010 and 2022 respectively for the My Lady, Moon Trays and Olly Oil Cruet lines, the Good Design Award for no less than five different lines, including the Anima Verde and 33 Carati lines, and the IF Product Design for the Butterfly line, Moon Trays and Silicon pro ceramics.

A Historic Brand Looking to the Future

A path, the one undertaken by Barazzoni in design, which lies at the heart of the company's constant commitment to combining tradition with innovation, functionality with aesthetics, performance in the kitchen with quality of life. Because if, on the one hand, the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy on 10 March 2023 recognised Barazzoni as a Historical Brand, thus rewarding our loyalty to values that have accompanied us for 120 years, on the other hand the tension towards new goals in innovation and design remains unchanged.
